use of Web2.0

1.It lets us develop timelines, embedded with multimedia, that can be edited and updated in a collaborative way.
2. It allows users to do more than just retrieve information.
3. It supports flexible, personalised learning.
4. It can be used in library , for example Library 2.0[1] is based on the Web 2.0[2] idea, but applied and related to the library environment which encourages participation and interaction by the user with the library in an internet environment. It also can be used in our school library homepage.

use of Blogger

1.It's full of fun and user friendly
2.Students are willing to do much reading and writing outside of class,we need to make them connect what they do for fun with writing and reading and learning. Blogger can do that.

Reflection on lesson 5

Reflection on lesson 5

1. I like zoho.writer most. I find it is user-friendly and useful. I can teach my student through immediate sharing of file. That's good for writing and sharing infomation. At the same time, the user can chat with each other. As a teacher, I can have an immediate  response and correct the mistake that the student made. Besides, I like RSS. It can provide an updated list of content from a site. As a result, my blog is always updated with the news. You can also find that in our blog that is so convenience.

2. Of course. I have already suggested to the Principal so that we can have wiki updated on the net. That's is a such good idea  to promote our school and at the same time we can let other to have a better understanding of our school. Our principal is well accepted my idea.

Apart from this, blogger is good idea on teaching. On our previous assigment, I have made a blog so that the student can communicate with me through blogging. That is quite popular among student and they like to share on blog.

3. I don't like to use blog to orqanise my portfolio because of privacy. I cannot accept to post my personal particular to public.

Mindmeister

Reflection on web2.0

Reflection on web2.0 tools

It is easy and user-friendly to use the web2.0 tools. As for the first user, the format and layout are quite easy to handle.

It also helps me to fix all the personal data such as photo and video. Besides, it can give me a better chace to manage our personal schedule. For example, Lunchn provides a good choices for us to have lunch and Uptake can provide a quick search on the travel destination . That's so easy to manage the living.

Writerzoho is good for writing purpose. I think it can strenghten the weakness on word processing on blogging. It is alos user-friendly to use as a first user.

For teaching purpose, blogging can give an intereaction between student and teacher. It also can have an immediate response and enhance the writing purpose.

The webmeister gives a clear way of thinking and introduce a clear way for student to search the relevant information.

This cousre provides me a chance to know more updated information on IT teaching and thus make me up dated and have a good chatting point to my student and other teacher.

Flexible schedule

Flexible scheduling

How many schools are using block scheduling? What is flexible and block scheduling? What are the benefits of flexible scheduling?

Rationale and justification
Alternate scheduling patterns address the concern for more appropriate learning environments for students and respond to the need, not for schools to be more organized, but to be more flexible and creative in the use of time (Spear, 1992). It has become apparent to practitioners that the structure of the school schedule influences the degree to which middle level schools respond to the developmental needs of their students (Williamson, 1993). The type of schedule which enables schools to incorporate the most recommended practices is known as flexible scheduling, a feature of exemplary schools that restructures resources by optimizing time, space, and staff and facilitates varied curriculum offerings and teaching strategies (Canady, 1995).

Benefits of flexible scheduling
Offering a choice of time configurations, flexible scheduling benefits both students and teachers. Large blocks of time can enhance teaming by providing time for teachers to plan together during a common planning time and to develop various learning activities that vary the location of classes and routine (Erb & Doda, 1989). Teachers can improve their teaching strategies and have less stress factors, such as a lower number of students per day, more quality time, more in-depth exploration of topics, and curricular integration. Teachers are directly involved with students and are the best judge of time requirements for learning activities. Blocks of time enable them to make choices and have more control over the learning environment. Teachers also move from the role of lecturer to facilitator and guide, while having sufficient class time to use hand-on activities, groupwork, project-based learning, technology, the media center, local organizations, and interactions with the community in service learning units.

With large blocks of time to facilitate involvement, students benefit from less fragmentation and more engagement in project-based learning and interdisciplinary activities, promoting skill application, interpersonal relations, and decision-making skills related to concrete, relevant problems (Vars, 1993). Results indicate increased student engagement and achievement and positive social ramifications (Arhar, 1992).

Reflection on the second lecture

After the lesson, I have learnt that as the shape growth of blogger in worldwide, blogs have the potential to effectively support teaching and learning activities.
Student are now in the age of no longer live in static web pages. Blog can enhace learning and teaching within student, teachers and school.
For student, blog can allow student to post their work schedule, discuss group assigment and review peer work. Blogs do not support only written text-based expression, but enable student to present their ideas in multimodal formats. They can present their own writing and give an immediate response within each other.
For teacher, blogs are avaliable for sharing information with student. Besides, it can give fast feedback to students. It is so convenient for student to communicate and interact. The information can be accessed in everywhere as an advanced.
For school, it is the best way to publish school news and provide a best way to communicate with the parent.
The advanced potential the blog given to us are easily be found in the lesson also. We can manage our own group blog easily and post relevant information such as slide share and video. As a result, as a teacher we can apply the skill of using blog in our teaching.
